Are you longing to become more fully yourself, bring meaning into your life, and have a guide who walks her talk? I use an integrative model that can assist in bringing you back into balance and lead to a happier, ease-filled life. Many of my clients have done both inner and outer work and are seeking the support to transform their pain, traumas, and life events into lifelong foundations of change.
As a seasoned professional, I invite each person that enters my office to be uniquely themselves and begin to listen to their deeper voice of authenticity. I know we all suffer, this is our nature, and I provide a secure container of compassionate listening to support your growth and well-being. I believe and trust that finding the right psychotherapist is essential for long-lasting shifts in developing trust, addressing traumas, relationship challenges, creative and emotional obstacles.
I specialize in helping individuals and couples to achieve balance and integration in their lives.
With almost 40 years of experience as a psychotherapist and consultant, I use many modalities to cultivate self-compassion and support the process of profound, long lasting change. I intend to relate to what will be most helpful for your unique situation, and together, we will work toward your goals. I trust the process of individuation a great deal and allow for the emergence of one’s internal resources to aid in each person’s healing. I have great faith in the human soul and allowing it to be witnessed by another in a safe container is what can bring long-lasting change. EMDR is an effective treatment for those suffering from relational trauma, attachment wounds, issues that won’t subside, and allows the client to feel empowered over their own unresolved issues.
The use of a specific protocol allows the client and therapist to formulate together the current needs to be cleared through this modality.
I am a certified EMDR therapist who also supervises newly trained EMDR therapists. I have been trained and had extensive consultation by Dr. Laurel Parnell, PhD a Ph.D. who specializes in Attachment-Focused EMDR. With her guidance and learning through my clients, I appreciate how EMDR therapy can clear the way for our highest functioning. It can assist in healing childhood trauma’s, PTSD, somatic issues, illness (particularly cancer treatment), single incident trauma, and other blocks.
I have posted one of Dr. Parnell’s articles below that speaks of the depth that EMDR therapy can reach to heal and release. Please feel free to call me if you have further questions.

Breast Cancer Psychotherapy: An Integrative Approach
I have been fortunate within my practice over the years to be able to provide services to woman newly diagnosed, within treatment, and in post treatment for breast cancer. As a daughter who had a mother die young from another cancer, I was called to be of service to these women and honored by their stories, victories, defeats, hard work, graces, grueling fears and trust that can develop through this journey.
An Individualized Approach to Breast Cancer Therapy
Each diagnosis is unique to each woman and man. It affects each person with a set of circumstances that only they can sort through and find the best possible outcome. With the assistance of an educated, resourceful, and experienced therapist, there can be a shift that will ensure not just health, but the ability to thrive.
I began this journey when some of my long-term patients were being diagnosed and undergoing treatment for breast cancer, including intrusive biopsies and surgeries. After a while, I began to see a trend, and I contacted the best breast cancer doctors and surgeons in Sonoma County to increase my learning and understanding of cancer patient’s needs. I began to get referrals and deepen my education about the level of treatment that was effective for my patients. I have sat on advisory boards, attended medical conferences, been a keynote speaker, advocate in fundraising, and therapist to women/men and their families. I have also triaged alongside medical and alternative healing community leaders.
Several symptoms seem to coincide with breast cancer, and there are ways to help mitigate these symptoms through education, psychotherapy, and integrative approaches. The article The Journey of Breast Cancer: How Myth and Archetypes Support Healing was written from a keynote speech I gave (shortened and edited for this purpose) for a group of women in the business of wine, many who had been touched personally by breast cancer.
Points of You®: A Therapeutic Tool to Gain New Perspectives
Creating change requires our minds to be open to new possibilities so that we can view things from a new perspective. Points of You® is a method I use that focuses on the interaction between the intuitive, emotional right half of your brain and the logical, analytical left half.
Stimulating both halves of the brain using a combination of images and words creates a struggle between the emotional and rational hemispheres or your brain and temporarily short circuits the defense mechanisms of the mind. Points of You® uses images and words to engage both halves of your brain to create this “deliberate confusion” that allows our mind to let go of preconceived notions of what “should be” and be open to new ideas and points of view.
San Francisco Office: “Mindfulness in Business”
“People are substantially less happy when their minds are wandering than when they are not. How often do people’s minds wander? Turns out, a lot: 47% of the time, people are thinking about something other than what they are currently doing”
– Matt Killingsworth, from his TED talk,
‘Want to be happier? Stay in the moment.
When I was offered an office in San Francisco by a psychiatrist colleague of mine, I jumped. at the chance. Not only because I have a strong connection to SF, but that I am nestled in the heart of downtown and the financial district.
I had already been working for years with business owners and professionals teaching them various forms of mindfulness, but now I could address these approaches with a diverse population of young, seasoned, and international professionals working nearby.
Mindfulness in the Workplace
The practice of Mindfulness has been around for thousands of years. and is rapidly becoming mainstream. It is simple, yet challenging to learn to slow the multitude of thoughts, physical stresses, heart rate, blood pressure, and even more, the task-driven culture that dominates our society.
If we only take 5-10 minutes to step back, pause, and reflect, we can engage our more relaxed version of ourselves in a calm, productive, compassionate, and less judgmental fashion.
Mindfulness to Increase Focus, Energy, and Confidence
I focus on how to guide my clients to use mindfulness as a way to learn coping skills to encourage better ways to get along with peers, management, team building, and self-confidence while in the workplace. Even taking a few moments to transition between home, work, and conferences can make a difference.
Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio states that practicing mindfulness, ‘“gives him a feeling of calm that allows him to manage his day, especially necessary in an increasingly bitter Washington.’ And many.” Many US corporations, law firms, government offices, and businesses implement mindfulness as a necessary ingredient to well-being while in the workday.
