Are you longing to become more fully yourself, bring meaning into your life and have a guide who walks her talk? I use an integrative model that can assist in bringing you back into balance and lead to a happier, ease filled life. Many of my clients have done both inner and outer work and are seeking the support to transform their pain, trauma’s and life events into life long foundations of change.
As a seasoned professional, I invite each individual who enters my office to be uniquely themselves and begin to listen to their deeper voice of authenticity. I know we all suffer, this is our nature and I provide a strong container of compassionate listening to support your growth and well-being. I believe and trust that finding the right psychotherapist is important for long lasting shifts in developing trust, addressing traumas, relationship challenges, creative and emotional obstacles.
I specialize in helping individuals and couples to achieve balance and integration in their lives.
With almost 40 years of experience as a psychotherapist and consultant, I use many modalities to cultivate self-compassion and support the process of profound, long lasting change. My intent is to relate to what will be most helpful for your unique situation and together we will work toward your goals. I trust the process of individuation a great deal and allow for the emergence of one’s own internal resources to aid in each person’s healing. I have a great faith in the human soul and allowing it to be witnessed by another in a safe container is what can bring long lasting change.
Being able to be both guided and lead by what comes from within is the beginning of a dialogue that can be deeply relied upon as obstacles are overcome and resolved.
My practice focuses on long-term work within a Jungian model. I believe that people can change in profound and vital ways, and have witnessed clients moving through this process for nearly 40 years. Accessing our unconscious resources is important for long-lasting change, so I also work within a relational model, as this is critical to repairing early childhood trauma and significant attachment wounds.

EMDR is an effective treatment for those suffering from relational trauma, attachment wounds, issues that won’t subside, and allows the client to feel empowered over their own unresolved issues.
The use of a specific protocal allows the client and therapist to formulate together the current needs to be cleared through this modality.
I am a certified EMDR therapist who also supervise’s newly trained EMDR therapist. I have been trained and had extensive consultation by Dr. Laurel Parnell, PhD. who specializes in Attachment Focused EMDR. With her guidance and the learning through the my clients, I appreciate how EMDR therapy can clear the way for our highest functioning. It can assist in healing childhood trauma’s, PTSD, somatic issues, illness (particularily cancer treatment), single incident trauma and other blocks.
I have posted one of Dr. Parnell’s articles below that speaks of the depth that EMDR therapy can reach to heal and release. Please feel free to call me if you have further questions.
Breast Cancer Psychotherapy: An Integrative Approach
I have been fortunate within my practice over the years to be able to provide services to woman newly diagnosed, within treatment, and in post treatment for breast cancer. As a daughter who had a mother die young from another cancer, I was called to be of service to these women and honored by their stories, victories, defeats, hard work, graces, grueling fears and trust that can develop through this journey.
I have sat on advisory boards, attended medical conferences, been a key note speaker, advocate in fund raising, and therapist to women/men and their families. I have also triaged alongside medical and alternative healing community leaders.
Each diagnosis is unique to each woman and man. It effects each person with a set of circumstances that only they can sort through and find the best possible outcome. What I do know is that with the assistance of an educated, resourceful and experienced therapist there can be a shift that will ensure not just health, but the ability to thrive.
I first began this journey when long term patients were being diagnosed and undergoing treatment for breast cancer, including all version of intrusive biopsies and surgeries. After a while I began to see a trend and I got in contact with the best breast cancer doctors and surgeons in Sonoma County. It was at that point that I began to get referrals along with deeper education about the depth of treatment that was effective for my patients.
There are a number of symptoms that seem to coincide with breast cancer and there are ways to help mitigate these symptoms through education, psychotherapy and integrative approaches. The following article was written from a key note speech I gave (shortened and edited for this purpose) for a group of women in the business of wine, many who had been touched personally by breast cancer.

San Francisco Office: “Mindfulness in Business”
‘People are substantially less happy when their minds are wandering than when they are not.How often do people’s minds wander? Turns out, a lot: 47% of the time, people are thinking about something other than what they are currently doing’
– Matt Killingsworth, from his TED talk,
‘Want to be happier? Stay in the moment.
When I was offered an office in San Francisco by a psychiatrist colleague of mine, I jumped. Not just that I have strong connection in SF, but that I am nestled in the heart of downtown and the financial district. I had already been working for years with business owners and professionals teaching them various forms of mindfulness, but now I could address these approaches with a varied population of young, seasoned, and international professionals working nearby..
The practice of Mindfulness has been around for years and years. It is simple, yet challenging to begin to slow the multitude of thoughts, bodily stresses, heart rate, blood pressure and even more, the task driven culture that dominates our society. If we only take 5-10 minutes to step back, pause and reflect, we can engage our more relaxed version of ourselves in a calm, productive, compassionate and less judgmental fashion.
In addition to providing psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and adolescents I focus on how to guide my clients to use mindfulness as a way to learn coping skills to encourage better ways to get along with peers, management, team building and self-confidence while in the workplace. Even taking a few moments to transition between home, work, meetings and conferences can make a difference. While multi-tasking may be our newest 24/7 lingo, it is not without drawbacks and health hazards. Being able to focus, feel more aligned, at peace and able to do your work well is what I offer my clients in simple and doable mindfulness practices.
Congressman Tim Ryan of Ohio states that his mindfulness practice, ‘gives him a feeling of calm that allows him to manage his day, especially necessary in an increasingly bitter Washington.’ And many US corporations, law firms, government offices, and businesses implement mindfulness as a necessary ingredient to well-being while in the work day.
The following article was written with these principles in mind: Take a pause, a breath, step back, feel your body, let it go the best you can, what truly matters right now?
